Scope of DOE Activities

DOE efforts at the Leningrad nuclear power plant focus on improving the safety of day-to-day operations at the plant and upgrading critical plant safety systems. DOE projects are in place for developing emergency operating instructions (1993-ongoing), providing modern maintenance tools and techniques (1995-ongoing), performing in-depth safety assessments (1995-ongoing). In addition, projects are under way to provide an improved fire detection system (1995-ongoing) and safety parameter display systems (1995-ongoing).
